Designing My 2026 Indianapolis 500® Limited-Edition Print

When I began working on my 2026 Indianapolis 500® artwork, I knew I wanted it to mark something rare. That year brings together two major milestones — the 110th running of the Indianapolis 500® and the United States’ 250th anniversary. Moments like that don’t come around often, and I wanted to create a print that felt intentional and worthy of being collected long after race week ends.

This piece is my way of capturing that intersection — thoughtfully — through a design that reflects both racing heritage and American tradition at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway®.

Built Around Two Historic Numbers

From the start, the design centered on honoring the 110th running of the Indy 500® while subtly acknowledging America’s broader anniversary. I leaned on strong geometry, confident typography, and patriotic color accents that nod to the moment without distracting from the race itself.

The result is a composition that feels timeless rather than trendy — something that could hang comfortably alongside vintage racing ephemera or modern décor alike.

Why I Chose a Retro Racing Poster Style

I’m drawn to classic racing poster design — the kind found in historic programs and travel advertisements. For 2026, that visual language felt right. I focused on bold shapes, motion, and typography that reads from across the room, all aimed at making the piece feel permanent on the wall.

Limited Edition by Design

This print is released as a strictly limited-edition Indianapolis 500® art print, produced in a fixed quantity and officially licensed. Each piece is printed at 13×19 inches, and once this edition sells through, it will not be reprinted in this form.
